History of Joseph L. Bruno Stadium

Named after the New York State Senate Majority Leader who helped secure the funds for the ballpark, Joseph L. Bruno Stadium is where the Tri-City ValleyCats have called home since their inception in 2002.

Located in the center New York's Capital Region (Albany, Schenectady and Troy), "The Joe" is known as the premier baseball complex in the area, providing family fun all summer long! The ValleyCats formerly played in the prestigious 14 team New York-Penn League, the oldest continually operated Class A league in professional baseball. Beginning in 2021, the ValleyCats became the 16th member of the Frontier League, the longest operating independent baseball league in the country. The Frontier League also feeds more players annually into the MLB than any other independent league. The 'Cats host 48 home games from mid May through mid September.

Joseph L. Bruno Stadium and the Tri-City ValleyCats offer a spectacular venue for professional baseball and great family entertainment. With affordable prices, entertaining promotions and tons of giveaways, it's not just a night out, but an experience with everlasting memories.

Close to 112 ValleyCats players have gone from "The Joe to The Show". That list includes 4x batting champion Jose Altuve, Hunter Pence, World Series MVP's George Springer, Ben Zobrist, and Jeremy Peña, and Cy Young Award Winner Dallas Keuchel.
